Medical Billing publishes independent educational information about medical billing, medical coding and the healthcare revenue cycle. The website helps students, job seekers, practice staff and beginners understand how claims, coding, billing software and related careers work in the United States.

We are not a medical billing company, staffing agency, school or healthcare provider. Nothing on this website is an offer to process claims, assign codes or manage a practice's accounts receivable.

What we publish

Our homepage guide explains the billing process, how billing and coding work together, what billing services typically include, career and training pathways, salary data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, software selection questions and common billing problems.

How we work

Factual statements are checked against primary sources such as CMS, HHS, BLS, AAPC and AHIMA. We name authors or reviewers only when we can show real credentials. Corrections are made when a primary source shows an error.
